Opportunities From: Love Wins Movement

This shift consists of driving a 16 foot box truck. Loading and unloading food and non-food items weighing up to approximately 40 lb. Volunteers will meet at the Love Wins Pantry to pick up the box truck at 8:30am. Then drive to Costco's loading dock (located on the north side of the building) to arrive at 9am.

A volunteer will enter the store at the Weis in Odenton and go to the bakery, and tell them you are there to pick up a donation for "Love Wins Pantry."

This is a weekly recurring opportunity, so sometimes the donations are sizable, and other times it's only a few items. Either way, we are grateful for whatever we receive. Just about any size vehicle will do (except a very compact car- you will need to be able to fit several boxes).

This team works together to unload and put away items received from bulk deliveries. They also organize and stock shelves to prepare for distribution box packing. If time and volunteer capacity allows, distribution box packing may begin during this time, along with any other tasks that need to be addressed for the coming week.

These shifts are approximately 3 hours. You are more than welcome to serve with us if you cannot be there the entire time, just let us know your availability in the comments of your signup.

Please wear appropriate footwear. Operation of manual equipment such as hand trucks is required. Also requires lifting, bending, and carrying.

This team works together to coordinate the process of getting items from pantry shelves and into the bags that will be given to our guests while in their vehicles.

There are many moving parts and tasks, and it all requires teamwork and communication. 

This will be done in doors.

Shifts now available:
8:30am-10:30am
10:00am to 1:00pm
3:30-7:30pm
5:30-7:30pm

All volunteers are welcome whenever they can arrive and for however long they are able to stay!

There is a NEW shift time created for 5:30pm arrival to assist with the second half of distribution. This is a VITAL and needed group of volunteers, as many of the volunteers at the start of distribution have been at the pantry all day. Just an hour or 2 after work is a HUGE help - and allows Love Wins Pantry to serve those in our community effectively and with excellence!

Volunteer Shift: Pantry Deep Clean & Marketplace Set-Up

During this shift, volunteers will focus on deep cleaning and organizing the space to ensure it’s safe, fresh, and guest-ready. Tasks may include:

Stocking shelves and arranging food items

Organizing storage areas and sorting donations

Wiping down surfaces, carts, and bins

Sweeping and mopping floors

Assisting with general layout and Marketplace set-up

This is a hands-on shift that makes a big impact—your time and effort help us serve our community with excellence and care!

Serving Shift Description: 
Help us get ready to make the holidays brighter for hundreds of local families!

Volunteers on the Holiday Distribution Prep Team will work together to pack and organize all the elements needed for our upcoming holiday distributions. Tasks may include sorting donations, assembling meal kits, prepping holiday bags, labeling boxes, restocking shelves, and staging items for efficient pickup and drive-through distribution.

Great for:
Individuals, families, and groups who enjoy teamwork, organization, and making a tangible difference behind the scenes.

What to Expect:
Light to moderate lifting may be required (10–25 lbs). Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting a little dusty. All supplies and guidance will be provided by our team leads.

Your work ensures that every family we serve experiences dignity, care, and a little extra holiday joy this season!

Serving Shift Description:
Bring warmth and cheer to the heart of our volunteer experience! Volunteers on the Holiday Hospitality Room Team will help create a welcoming space for all who come to serve. Team members will assist with volunteer check-in, maintain the hospitality area, restock refreshments, organize snacks and beverages, and help ensure everyone feels appreciated and cared for throughout their shift.

Great for:
Friendly, detail-oriented individuals who love to host, encourage others, and make people feel valued. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys serving behind the scenes with a smile.

What to Expect:
This role is primarily indoors and involves light activity such as setting up tables, managing refreshments, or greeting volunteers as they arrive. Each shift will include two team members working together. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your positive, welcoming energy! Team leads will provide guidance and all supplies needed.

Your care for our volunteers helps fuel every part of the holiday distribution — reminding those who serve that their time and heart truly make a difference. When we care for our volunteers, they’re better able to care for our community. ❤️

Serving Shift Description:
Help us keep things merry and moving! Volunteers on the Holiday Traffic Team play a vital role in ensuring our drive-up distribution runs smoothly and safely. Team members will help direct vehicle flow, guide guests through the parking and pickup areas, and communicate with distribution and safety leads to keep things organized and efficient. A warm smile and calm presence go a long way in making families feel welcome during this busy event!

Great for:
Individuals and groups who enjoy being outdoors, staying active, and helping create a safe, friendly environment for guests and volunteers alike.

What to Expect:
This is an outdoor position with light to moderate activity. Volunteers should be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods and using hand signals or radios for communication. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and a reflective vest if available (some will be provided).

Help us share holiday hope and cheer with hundreds of local families! Volunteers on the Holiday Drive-Up Distribution Team will work together to serve guests as they arrive to pick up their pre-packed holiday meals and gifts. Tasks may include guiding traffic, greeting families, loading vehicles with food boxes, turkeys, and holiday items, restocking supplies, and ensuring the flow of cars moves smoothly and safely throughout the event.

Great for:
Individuals, families, and groups who enjoy being active, connecting with others, and serving on the front lines of community care.

What to Expect:
This is an outdoor, high-energy serving opportunity! Light to moderate lifting may be required (10–25 lbs). Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and bring your best holiday spirit. Our team leads will provide all instructions and support on-site.

Join us for a Holiday Deep Clean as we get the Love Wins spaces ready to shine for the season! Volunteers will help clean, organize, and refresh our shared spaces to prepare for the busy weeks of holiday distributions and community events ahead. Tasks may include sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, organizing shelves, dusting, and general tidying — making sure everything looks welcoming and ready for guests and volunteers alike.

Great for:
Individuals who enjoy hands-on work, attention to detail, and the satisfaction of seeing a space transformed through teamwork.

What to Expect:
This shift runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and involves light to moderate physical activity. Cleaning supplies and guidance will be provided — just wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a little messy.

Your efforts help create a clean, organized, and inviting environment where every person who walks through our doors feels cared for and valued this holiday season. ✨
