Opportunities From: Love Wins Movement

This team works together to unload and put away items received from bulk deliveries. They also organize and stock shelves to prepare for distribution box packing. If time and volunteer capacity allows, distribution box packing may begin during this time, along with any other tasks that need to be addressed for the coming week.

These shifts are approximately 3 hours. You are more than welcome to serve with us if you cannot be there the entire time, just let us know your availability in the comments of your signup.

Please wear appropriate footwear. Operation of manual equipment such as hand trucks is required. Also requires lifting, bending, and carrying.

Meet at Love Wins Pantry, drive box truck to Bimbo Bakery and Schmidt Bakery, retrieve donations and drive back to Love Wins Pantry.

*** Special Note - This shift does NOT require heavy lifting. One of our very special Difference Makers usually rides shotgun and is able to assist with any lifting/ moving of items. ***

Distribution Team (Drive-Up)
Join our Drive-Up Distribution Team and help serve guests in a fast, fun, and welcoming way! This team works together to safely and efficiently distribute food to our guests while they remain in their vehicles.

What Happens During This Shift:
Volunteers work in teams to distribute prepared pantry items that are already bagged and staged. When a car pulls up, volunteers simply place the prepared food bags directly into the guest’s vehicle. Clear instructions and team leads are always available to guide you.

Typical Tasks:
Placing prepared food bags into guests’ cars
Restocking the staged distribution area as items are used
Handing out special items or snacks directly to cars
Communicating with teammates to keep traffic moving smoothly
Volunteers scheduled 6:30 PM or later will help with breakdown and clean-up after distribution

Shift Times:
3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Important Information:
This shift takes place outdoors, so please dress for the weather
Wear comfortable shoes
The environment is fast-paced, energetic, and fun
Teamwork and communication are very important

Who This Shift Is Best For:

Kids 14 and under are welcome with adult supervision

Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and carry light to moderate bags
Willingness to follow directions and work as part of a team

Your help allows guests to be served quickly, safely, and with dignity!

This shift consists of driving a 16 foot box truck. Loading and unloading food and non-food items weighing up to approximately 40 lb. Volunteers will meet at the Love Wins Pantry to pick up the box truck at 8:30am. Then drive to Costco's loading dock (located on the north side of the building) to arrive at 9am.

Volunteer Shift: Pantry Deep Clean & Marketplace Reset

During this shift, volunteers will focus on deep cleaning and organizing the space to ensure it’s safe, fresh, and guest-ready. Tasks may include:

Stocking shelves and arranging food items

Organizing storage areas and sorting donations

Wiping down surfaces, carts, and bins

Sweeping and mopping floors

Assisting with general layout and Marketplace set-up

This is a hands-on shift that makes a big impact—your time and effort help us serve our community with excellence and care!

A volunteer will enter the store at the Weis in Odenton and go to the bakery, and tell them you are there to pick up a donation for "Love Wins Pantry."

This is a weekly recurring opportunity, so sometimes the donations are sizable, and other times it's only a few items. Either way, we are grateful for whatever we receive. Just about any size vehicle will do (except a very compact car- you will need to be able to fit several boxes).
