This person goes to the Wawa located on Veterans highway and picks up any donations that have been set aside for Love Wins. Donated items are brought back to the pantry and placed in one of the refrigerators in the main pantry room. Also, certain Wawa representatives are very strict on the bags we use to pick up. We have been provided specific reusable food rescue bags, so you will need to retrieve those from the pantry before heading there. this can be done in advance since it is the only establishment we need to use them for. Any type of vehicle is suitable for this pick up.
Please note, this is a weekly recurring opportunity set up through a 3rd party organization, which means we are not able to call ahead to ensure a donation is there for us. On occasion, we arrive and they do not have any donations, but it's ok! It's worth the effort when they do, and either way it builds our relationships with people, companies, and other network partners.
